Buckingham Art School

I am  a graduate in Animation and Illustration, with several years experience as an art tutor and as a freelance artist. I've always enjoyed teaching and looking after children, first as a babysitter, then working in holiday clubs- so when I got the chance to teach art clubs I jumped at the chance.
 
My specialist subjects are painting, figurative work and cartooning- I love a sense of narrative in my work and a lot of my art has a story within it. My work is sold at several galleries in the area and I am also a member of The Buckingham Art Group, Heavycat Multimedia and Palace in the Sky Publishing.

"I began my interest in calligraphy in 1996 at an adult ed class , got hooked immediately and started taking various courses and exams, such as the CLAS National Diploma in Calligraphy, Foundation and Intermediate levels and most recently am a graduate of the Society of Scribes and Illuminators 'Advanced Training Scheme'. I belong to both Northampton Scribes and Oxford Scribes, and teach workshops to both groups . I exhibit with them too and sell my work and cards mainly through Oxford Scribes.I am also a freelance calligrapher, and offer such services as writing out  event calligraphy (place cards and invitations)  for clients  such as Jaguar, as well as for weddings and other functions and launches . I also write out  poetry or prose for clients, which may  include various decorative  backround effects. My work has appeared  most recently in the American Journal, Bound and Lettered, and the British magazine, the Edge."
