If the snows do come and you can't get to a class you are welcome to come to the studio session on Thursdays from 1 -3 and if there are lots of people that need to come we will offer some extra sessions on Friday afternoons.
Bafa 'Light' Exhibition!
This year's Buckingham Art For All competition and exhibition was themed with the title 'LIGHT'. The exhibition had categories from Novice to Experienced and both students and tutors submitted their work. We are delighted to announce BAS winners as follows:

Buckingham Art School at Stowe Castle
As from 24th October all classes will be held at our newly acquired premises. Debs and I have spent many months looking for the perfect site for our school / studios and we are very excited to have found this spacious barn conversion. There is plenty of onsite parking, far reaching countryside views and an orchard to paint in! Located just 2 miles outside of Buckingham opposite Akeley Wood Senior School, next to Stowe Castle.

Exhibition at Aim For Art Gallery - CMK
Debs Last, Zoë Day, Lindsey Graham, Lynne Cameron & Heather Sequira are exhibiting as Five Women Artists to present a wonderful show of mixed media and creative explorations. The exhibition will run from 4th - 27th August and is another exciting innovative show in the Aim for Art Gallery. There will be something for everyone to enjoy with fine ceramics, engaging images and the creative explorations of the Five Women who have formed a self-supportive circle for the past three years. A definite must for all the family to enjoy during the summer. The Gallery is opposite Waitrose next to Costa coffee.

Top Student Alexandra Buckle exhibits alongside Tracy Emin in Royal Academy!!
Back in March she decided to enter a self portrait and a lino print into the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition and I'm delighted to say that the lino print was accepted and is currently on display. The print, exhibit number 333, is titled Gold Pavilion and it is a very complex and detailed reduction print involving five colours.
All editions of Gold Pavilion are now sold. However, she is currently planning a new, similar print which will be finished within the next few weeks.

Opportunity for students to exhibit in Dragon Gallery!!
We are delighted to announce that in association with BAFA, Buckingham Art School is to be given space in the 'Dragon Gallery' to exhibit and sell their art work. All current students are invited to come along to a meeting on Saturday 26th March 2011, 10.30am at the Art School to find out more and sign up for this amazing opportunity. THREE NEW CLASSES FOR 2011
Weds 10 - 12am Beginners Watercolour (Debs Last)
A broad course to include techniques and styles used for watercolour. There will be some drawing included as well as a good picture tend to start with good observation. We will look at basic skills and materials adding to these as the course progresses.
Thursdays 1pm - 3pm Life Class £70 (Debs Last)
This course is for those who wish to take their art to the next level. Life drawing makes you feel like an artist and makes you work like one too! It is the fastest way to improve your observational skills and a vital tool for the serious artist. Most weeks there will be a different model and a variety of poses. A level students are most welcome.
Fridays 10 - 12 am Studio Sessions £6 per session!(Zoë Day)
These sessions give you the opportunity to paint or draw in a relaxed studio environment (with a tutor on hand to offer advice and guidance). It is perfect for those who would like to further explore techniques they have learned in the classes and also for the more experienced artist who would benefit from painting alongside others without constraints. Work at your own pace and enjoy!!

DAVID TRESS EXHIBITION
There is presently a fabulous art exhibition at Stowe School by David Tress. He is one of the countries leading contemporary landscape artists and we are extremely lucky to have been offered a private viewing of his work for all our Buckingham Art School students. Debs and I invite you to come and view this exhibition in the Marble Hall at Stowe School (you can park in front of the school and go through the big doors up the main steps). We will both be there on Monday 4th and Friday 8th October between 1.30 - 3pm for this private viewing. It would be useful to know how many people would like to come, so if you are able to let Debs or Zoë know whether you can make it, that would be great. There is no charge for this exhibition.
Zoë Day - Palette knife Demonstration for BAFA
Zoë will be holding a Palette knife demonstration for BAFA (www.buckinghamartforall.co.uk ) on Tuesday 5th October 8pm - 10pm at the Well Street Church. Everyone is welcome £5 for non members - free to BAFA members.

GRAND OPEN EVENING!!!
Wednesday 25th August 2010 (6.30 - 9pm)
Everyone is welcome to join us to celebrate the opening of our new Art School. To be held at the Well Street Church, we will be holding an exhibition of student's work, free interactive demonstrations, nibbles and refreshments. It is the perfect opportunity to find out more about all the courses we have to offer.
'BAFA' (Buckingham Art for All) will also be there for those interested in the Buckingham Art Scene. Canvas will also be offering discount cards for anyone booking on a course!
FREE DRAWING DEMONSTRATION
Saturday 7th August 2010 (10am - 3pm)
Zoë Day will be doing a free drawing demonstration at CANVAS shop in Buckingham using graphite, inktense, tinted charcoal and pencils. There will be three separate demos with an opportunity to have a go with the materials afterwards. Hope to see you there!
BOYCOTT FARM OPEN FARM SUNDAY

Debs Last and Zoë Day will be demonstrating and selling work as part of this very popular annual event. There will be a chance to meet the animals, farm nature walks, learn how your food is produced, tractor and trailer rides around the farm and other activities as well as a barbecue and teas and cakes. ART IN THE MARKET
On Sunday 30th May Buckingham Art School are Joining with BAFA www.buckinghamartforall.co.uk to display work, talk about the new school and carry out lots of exciting demonstrations. This is being held in Buckingham Town Centre from 1pm - 10pm as part of the MUSIC IN THE MARKET 2010. Should be lots of fun!
ADDITIONAL MIXED MEDIA CLASS!!
The art school has really taken off and already we are expanding our classes to accommodate demand!! We will be putting on a new Mixed Media evening class from June. The class will be on a monday evening 7.15 - 9.15pm from 7th June. This is course aims to be a lot of fun for people who get excited about art and like to try new things.

TUTOR EXHIBITIONS / DEMONSTRATIONS
Zoë & Debs are both exhibiting paintings on the BAFA Gallery Art Trail in Buckingham.
Zoë Day will be displaying work as part of the exhibition, ‘Revolutions: Cycling & Art,’ which takes place from 7 – 10 May at the Octagon Room, Orleans House Gallery, London. For further details please see www.richmond.gov.uk Zoë also has several pieces of work in the 'AIM' Gallery in Milton Keynes as part of their CITY PEOPLE exhibition and the 'STANI GALLERY' in Stony Stratford as part of their RED HOT SUMMER show.
Emily Brady is exhibiting work on Saturday 15th May at Stony Stratford Craft Market and on Sunday 6th June at Northampton Art Market. Emily also has work in the Ginny Gray Gallery in Buckingham.
